The campus at a glance
- Deakin's Warrnambool Campus is set on the banks of the picturesque Hopkins River, close to local surf beaches and popular tourist attractions.
- The 94 hectare site is approximately five kilometres from the centre of Warrnambool CBD, serviced by the Princes Highway and by its own railway station and bus services.
- Warrnambool has a population of about 34,000 and is roughly 250 kilometres west of Melbourne.
Getting there
Regional train
The closest train station to the Warrnambool campus is Sherwood Park, just over 150 metres from campus. Rail services run from Melbourne, Geelong, Mt Gambier, Portland, Port Fairy, Ballarat and Hamilton daily. These services connect with public transport to other regional and interstate centres.

Coach services run from Melbourne, Geelong, Mt Gambier, Portland, Port Fairy, Ballarat and Hamilton daily. These services connect with public transport to other regional and interstate centres.
From central Warrnambool, you can catch the Route 3 Koroit Street Interchange to Deakin via Gateway Plaza – it takes around 20 minutes.

Paying for public transport
Regional services around Warrnambool use a standard paper ticketing system. You can buy tickets at the stations. The suburban bus lines use paper tickets that can be purchased on the buses.
Cycle
The main route to the Warrnambool Campus is via the main highway, so we recommend that you exercise caution. To avoid the highway you can use the adjacent two-way service road, as well as ride on the footpath along the Homemaker Centre.
There are showers and change rooms, bike racks and lockers on campus.
Car
Warrnambool Campus is just under three hours from Melbourne by car, depending on traffic.
- From the Melbourne CBD join the Monash Freeway (M1)
- Take the exit for B140 Hamilton

Disability access
Most of our buildings are wheelchair-accessible and have lifts, accessible toilets and automatic doors.
Housing
Our Warrnambool Campus has on-site accommodation for 199 students. It's close to campus facilities, including tennis and basketball/netball courts, a football oval and gymnasium.
Accommodation is guaranteed for all Warrnambool students with acceptance of their course offer (subject to approval).
